Looking for that Prayer

A poem from the new book "Reflections at Sunset"

I’m looking for that prayer
That has never been said before,
Looking for that key
That will open every door.
To end all suffering, rejection and pain,
Revealing every secret
Till nothing hidden remains.

I am searching for that prayer
That takes me straight to You.
I am searching for that prayer
That is so innocent and true;
That will end all fear, jealousy and hate
I am looking for the words
That will open every gate.

I am praying for that prayer
That will bring heaven down to earth,
When every moment will be
An experience of constant rebirth.
I am longing for the courage
To say what has never been said,
To enliven the living and to revive the dead.

I am hoping for the prayer
That will wipe away sin.
Trying to catch that prayer
Blowing in the wind.
That will wipe away every tear, every shadow of blame;
I am searching for God’s mercy
Free from any shame.

I am longing for the prayer
That will bring redemption to the world,
Looking for that victory march and the flag to be unfurled.
I am praying for that prayer
That will set everything right;
I am yearning for the prayer
That will reveal Your infinite light.
